Hello November… Can I say I have missed you? Yes! I love Winter. Although, we are not officially in winter (not until December 22nd)…the cold front has bypassed autumn and coats are needed. 

Is it time for our coats yet? Well, to answer my question… Yes, yes, yes!

I have been checking out some of the trends in designer stores and picked out my favourites, along with their doppelgängers in high street stores.

So, let’s take a look at the fluffy, woolly and cosy coats out there, to keep us warm and fashionable this season.

 

I came across this cape-like coat in Maje and I fell in love. It is unique and I love how it fits and feels. I also found something similar in Zara at a fraction of the price but still gives you the same look. Reiss also do a version, but this is more a cardigan than a coat and it is on their website now. Houndstooth print is everywhere!

Top tip: trends seems to be big coats cinched in with belts this season!

Who doesn’t love an actual cape… I am a sucker! They compliment any winter/warm outfit and are a statement piece. They can be found in YSL, GUCCI, and of course Zara do their own version. My favourite this season is this Gucci short cape…I’m in love!

Keep it fluffy! Everyone loves a “teddy”these days…and no I don’t mean the bear, but the coat! Although, in some countries it doesn’t get cold enough to walk around in this duvet style coat… Here in the UK it does, and it is often needed!

Maxmara are of course the leaders in the “teddy coat” race. However, there are similar coats to this in pretty much every store! Here are some of the alternatives I have found.

I just bought a gorgeous “teddy” from Joseph…Although, the price tag is similar to the Maxmara version… I fell in love! I am yet to wear this one and share with you.

Layers and more layers is another way to go. This means you can get away with less of a thick coat and build up your outfit with different layers and in different styles every time. You can add a thick belt across your coat and change it up!
