Welcome to the new millennial year… it is 2020!

I am a little late with this blog and we are now in February…Oops!

So… Let’s talk trends of 2020. New Year…new clothes?

It will be hard to say goodbye to all the good times we had in 2019, but it will be less difficult to wave away the trends of 2019. I mean, they were so last year! Do not fret our favourite trends are still sticking around.

The 6 top trends (that I adore) coming your way this year!

  1. The BRA TOP craze… Dior introduced this with their statement crop top/bralette in 2017 and the trend lives on.

I love this look with high waisted trousers or flowy pants. It is classic, elegant and seductive in the right way. Remember, you have got to keep the rest of the outfit simple and covered to avoid looking…well…tacky.

There is a fine line!

Zara

£25.99

Dior

£650

2. The SHORT suit. Yep, your classic blazer with a Bermuda short. No, this is not an invite to wear hot pants with a blazer and call this a trend. The look I talk of is classy, with a hint of masculinity. An androgynous look. My favourite is a utilitarian style in neutral tones…you cannot go wrong! Team this with flats for a casual look or add some heels for the evening. You also do not need to wear this look as a suit but rather the shorts with a shirt or t shirt will work!

Zara – faux leather (for the vegans)

£25.99

Stand Studio – (real leather) with Bottega ‘square’ heels

£400

3.  NEON is going nowhere and is still in for 2020 – check my previous blog for neon trends.

4. LEATHERS… will come in any shape or form. I love a good leather outfit. This will be expensive and if you don’t want to use leather then the alternatives can be pretty good too. Check out the ruched leather minis below…from the high street to the designer.

Zara Leather dress (my favourite)

£189.00

5. KNITS… the knitted crop top and cardigan team is a winner! I love this look it is super cute and comfortable. It gives the ‘girl next door’ vibe. Chic and simple.

Gabriela Hearst

£675 cardigan and £395 tank top

Zara set

£25.99 crop top & £49.99 cardigan

6.  SQUARE toed heels – Bottega are the creators of this style and this began a while ago but it will live on through 2020. This was not a style I fell in love with at first sight. However, it has grown on me and I am in need of this latest trend!

Zara

£69.99

Bottega

£940

Other trends to look out for… Puffy sleeves, big slouchy bags and prints. These are all the trends I shall be diving into over 2020. I think my next purchase has to be a pair of the Bottega heels…what do we think? I have already begun with the knit trend (as seen on my Instagram).

Let’s bring chic back…please!
