This is the story of my most exciting purchase EVER… The one and only Birkin bag!

I think this has to top the ‘most coveted bag’ chart, but why is this? A simple Birkin is not detailed in any specific way and is actually a simple bag. So, why are these bags so difficult to get a hold of and so in demand???

Well the above question answers itself…they are in such high demand because they are impossible to get a hold of.

Have you ever been into a Hermes store and quietly asked if they have a Birkin? It is almost embarrassing to do so but ‘a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do’… am I right?

Well, I was beyond that at the stage when I came across my Birkin. She was sitting there on the shelf awaiting me and I suppose I was at the right place, at the right time.

Even thinking about that moment I passed that perfect Togo 40 black Birkin with silver hardware sitting on the shelf of the gorgeous Hermes store on Rue du Rhone, Geneva makes me smile.

My Birkin tale is quite funny…I had been in search of the Birkin for years. I had looked around pretty much all of Europe and UAE. I even thought about going down the vintage route and just when I was giving up I decided to check the store whilst I was on holiday in Geneva. I was convinced it would be the usual “Sorry, we have no Birkin’s”, I had probably heard that over 30 times from many sales assistants in many countries. It was on December 28th that I stumbled on my perfect Birkin…well I actually walked straight past her.

A double take moment…this was mine. She was right there and I was not dreaming! I knew I had to have her and it took one glance and twirl in front of the mirror to know this Birkin was coming home with me.

It was only when I had picked up the coveted bag that the entire store realized they had missed out on a Birkin opportunity… everyone was glancing over and I just could not put her down – she was mine! Finally!
