Dear Autumn…

It is September! Summer seems a distant memory, and it is all about coats and jumpers out there.

Time to get back to reality…there is no rest for fashion fiends, and now that summer is over, it is time to talk about fashion week.

A lot has happened in the past few weeks here in the UK, with a no-deal BREXIT putting the fashion industry at risk of a £900 million loss, fashion week fights for its right!

Friday thirteenth may not have been the luckiest day to begin the festivities, but this is how it began. London was buzzing, and there wasn’t a superstitious fashionista in sight.

So, what are people wearing to the shows?

Clean cut looks are everything this Autumn/Winter. Crisp white shirts, oversized blazers and chunky knit jumpers…yes, yes and yes! This is what we do best as Londoners. This is our season!

Simple and chic is the fashion message this season, and all the stores are abiding by this. You can jazz up any outfit with unusual/fun accessories and print ankle boots. This helps you personalise your look and make it creative.

One thing that does make it difficult to prepare your outfit is the temperature switch, that happens every hour in London. So, do not put away your skirts and t shirts just yet. Layering up is the best solution to this problem…tank tops and warm wrap sweaters are the answer.

Shirts and suit pants are incredibly chic this season and paired with kitten heels and big jewellery…you cannot lose!

Zero-fuss elegance is the way this season!

Another trend that is close to my heart, since my high school days, is plaid. Yes, I love a plaid print, and much to my delight, this is back with a vengeance. Back-to-school it is for all of us! The skirts and blazers are reminiscent of gossip girl vibes (that is also due to make a come back xoxo) and can be found in Zara, Topshop, Versace, Valentino, Mcqueen and the list just goes on…

I am also loving the midi skirt and have done for the past few years. This is a fashion piece that has stuck around, and can be altered from the summery days to a more current winter look. Team up with a t-shirt and trainers for the warmer days, or wear with a chunky knit and boots to beat the cooler temperatures to come.

Gucci team this outfit up well. Again, all high street stores also have similar pieces!

Check out all these fashion ideas in the high street and designer stores. Use your creative and unique ideas to make these looks work for you. It is all about your personal sense of style and how you want to be presented… so have fun with it!

I am just happy to welcome my favourite fashion season (Autumn/Winter) back…check out my looks on Instagram to see how I put my upcoming outfits together and hopefully inspire you.
