2019…What is hot and what is not?

I do not really think much about the new year but this year I am super excited for what is to come. A lot changed for me in 2018 and 2019 is the year where it will all hopefully come to life. I am sitting here on the first of January (with ‘Oliver twist’ in the background) planning my goals for the year.

The one thing I have come across is the trends that will be for 2019… brace yourselves as you may not be expecting this.

TIE DYE…

Yes, you read that right. The trend that took over when I was maybe pre-teen and not come into the scene since. Not a fan of tie dye (sorry not sorry).

However, if you are… then here are some of my favourite tie dye pieces out there now;

  1. ‘Enza Costa’ present this trend well with this midi dress at just £99 – beautifully put with some black stiletto and a clutch-outfit done!

2. ‘Proenza’ have created a tie dye turtle neck that I would love to pair with skinny jeans and boots at £284 (check net-a-porter). They even have the matching bag…If you really want to create that matchy-matchy look… Personally, I think one piece at a time will do us all better!

3. ‘Marques’Almeida’ have created this dress with the ruffled neckline perfect with boots. Keeping all other items simple will allow this dress to pop and add something special to your look. I love this one at £297 at Matchesfashion.com on sale currently!

So, let us move on from this trend and on to others…

The 1980s are set to stay with strong shoulders, sequins and logos being a trend and set to stay in 2019!

BEIGE is the new black… this chic colour is simple and elegant and set to be big in 2019 with Dior, MaxMara and Givenchy participating. Check out gorgeous nudes, Beiges and off white shades to get your spring 2019 closet ready.

NEON is bright and back being shown by Balenciaga, Maison Margiela and Helmut Lang who have all got it down to a T…

These are my favourite neon picks from Net-a-porter.

  1. First, this simple t shirt by Maison Margiela at £265– can be worn casual or dressed up it is versatile and perfect for spring/summer 2019.
  2. Here is Balenciaga’s hot pink version at £645. Balenciaga also add the perfect neon touch to their accessories – I love their logo scarf £295 and their stretch knit trainers with neon streaks £525. Also found on net-a-porter.

So, these are just a few of the items that caught my eye for 2019. I will continue to do fortnightly updates to keep you all in the know throughout 2019 of what I like and what is out there. Fashion may take themes such as 1980s, neon or shoulder pads and I will blog on how to incorporate them into your everyday wardrobe!
