San Valentino…

The stores are set up with red heart decorations and chocolate centre pieces everywhere…Valentine’s Day is here!

I am sure men and women all over town are already considering their plans and gifts. I get asked a lot by male friends about what they can get for their wives/girlfriends. So, I am going to give my insight as to what would make the perfect Valentine’s day gift.

Firstly, you know your partner, and your input definitely counts on making those gifts personalised and special to your other half. That will have to come from you…your personal note in your card…the wrapping…your presentation. It all counts!

Some of the beautiful gifts I have come across in the stores recently are perfect for Valentine’s Day… just click on pictures to go straight to the sites and get shopping…

I am in love with this gorgeous Hermes scarf that is exclusive to Selfridges, London (if you live abroad you may be able to order online) Not only is it exclusive to this store it also comes in a heart shaped Hermes box that is the ideal Valentine’s Day gift. Hermes scarves are classic…she will always keep this scarf and can wear it in many different ways…it will be the perfect keepsake present with the reminder of your loving intent throughout the heart print. There are also so many varieties from all designers in all sizes for different occasions so take a look.

Jewellery…can you really go wrong with this? This has always been the gift of love… you know “diamonds are a girl’s best friend” or at least that was what Marilyn Monroe sang…
If you are not going as far as diamonds any jewellery will be a great gift and my top ones for valentine’s day are;
-The classic LOVE bracelet by Cartier will make her a very happy girl and there are many variants… click on the picture below to get to the site and check out what option is best for your loved one.

-Shaun Leane are Dua Lipa and Meghan Markle’s choice for jewellery and I love their ‘Talon’ earrings which can be purchased on the link below. They are ‘fit for a Dutchess’ so she will feel special for sure. Priced at £2408 on Farfetch…but they do have much cheaper versions from £113.

-Custom jewellery by brands such as Dior and Chanel will be a less expensive and an equally loved gift. My top picks are below…(just beware earrings are non-refundable or exchangeable).
The Dior infamous tribal earring with cute red hearts attached beneath are the perfect gift every time she looks at them it is a reminder of your love.

Chanel has so much choice and perhaps your other half has already highlighted their desires but if they love Coco Chanel and you want to keep to the Valentine’s Day theme then this brooch is perfect!

Sweet treats are everyone’s favourite- chocolate, candy or macarons…yes, please!
I love Laduree’s Valentine’s day effort…they go all out…in fact on their website they have dedicated cakes and even heart shaped macaron boxes! ‘Je t’aime’ is their theme all the way!

Godiva have their own Valentine’s day chocolate menu with a ‘milk almond speculoos’ option…yes! They have heart shaped boxes filled with wonderful chocolates you can even add teddy bears to your purchase and all things cute for a special gift.

Shoes are always a winner… My top picks are Valentino, Manolos or Christian Louboutin. What says love better than a pair of red bottoms? Just know her size.Candles are always the staple of a Valentine’s day romantic gift. The brand ‘Diptique’ is my favourite with truly unique scents to set the romantic scene. These candles will be loved and used frequently. Diptique’s ‘roses collection’ is perfect for Valentine’s day as the brand celebrate the rose in all its forms.

‘Fornasetti’ are an even more indulgent brand with candles encased in a ceramic vessel decorated to the essence of the candle’s fragrance. The candle you see below uses the lips of opera singer Lina Cavalieri, the muse of master perfumer Olivier Polge. This is a truly decadent gift perfect for the occasion.

Flowers are a favourite of mine and nothing can beat the beauty of a lavish bouquet. I mean look around there are roses practically everywhere…

My favourite florists in London are;
-Neill Strain found at Harrods but also have their own store around the corner
-Steven Moyses also found at Harrods
-Aoyama in Selfridges is one of my favourite florists to pop up in London with the most gorgeous collection of bouquets that can be ordered in store or online at Selfridges.com. Their single rose is beautiful in every way.
– Phillipa Craddock of course. Who does not want flowers from the lady who transformed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding into a flower garden? She will love this romantic gesture.

There are always handbags, hampers, fragrances and other small goodies that can be personalised and made special for Valentine’s Day…be creative!

I have covered as much as I can on the perfect gift ideas, ranging from those with heavy price tags to something truly thoughtful and less taxing on the purse strings. You just need to get out there and get inspired…take my advice and get her the perfect gift!

Happy Valentine’s Day!!!
